The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ondo State, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, has taken consultation to Akoko local government area of the state.
While receiving Akingboye and his team in Oke-agbe, the ten ward chairmen led by the Chairman of the council of PDP ward chairmen in Akoko North-west local government, Mr. Akanni Idowu, thanked Otunba Akingboye and his team for showing interest in the battle to liberate the people of Ondo state from the current anti-people APC administration.
He said “We are happy that you come out to contest and we are glad our party is blessed with a popular candidate like you. We know you are not one of those leaders who will back off at the critical stage of the contest.”
Responding to comments and commendations, Otunba Akingboye assured the party leaders of victory if given the chance to fly the PDP flag. The Okitipupa-born philanthropist lamented the deplorable state of roads in the local government and promised to reconnect the people with other parts of Ondo state through road construction if elected as governor of the state.
He said “I cannot afford to look on while my people in Ondo state clamour for a popular government that prioritizes the interest of the people. Provision of roads, water and other social amenities should not be celebrated by any serious governor because it is purely the basic right of the people. If we emerge in 2020, Akoko will be reconnected to other parts of the state and people will not be left to celebrate the provision of social amenities; we will think out of the box.”
Otunba Akingboye congratulated the party leaders for showing readiness to reclaim the state as evident during the 2019 general elections. He assured them that the 2020 election is for the PDP to win.
